2. Writing of questionnaire

A questionnaire was designed to gather information on the resources that organisations were finding useful to deliver literacy and numeracy through finance and/or financial literacy. A comprehensive list of resources currently available was divided in to paper based (both teaching and training/ information resources), videos, software and websites. The list of resources was based on those to be found in the Adult Financial Capability Framework, the Basic Skills Agency’s Financial Literacy Resource List and Avanti Books’ catalogue. Organisations were then asked to identify any resources that they found useful that weren’t listed and if there were any gaps in the resources currently available. Information was also requested on types of resources used and needed plus topics that additional resources should cover. These questions mirror those asked in research undertaken by the National Foundation for Educational Research (NFER) in 1996 and published in the report ‘Financial Literacy in Adult Life’. Finally organisations were asked for any other comments. The questionnaire is to be found in Appendix 1.
